Peanut...Hold the Butter?
Hello again! I missed you all—hope all of my American friends enjoyed a family- and fun-filled Thanksgiving (and hope the rest of you just had a relaxing end to your week)!
Today, I’m highlighting another food product I enjoy: powdered peanut butter. It may sound completely strange to those of you who have never heard of it, but perhaps after this brief introduction, you’ll be...

Happy, Merry, Joyous Tweetsgiving!
What is Tweetsgiving, you ask? It’s a web-based celebration around Thanksgiving that encourages bloggers, Twitter posters and other Internet users to share what they are thankful for. Showing gratitude is something that I treasure, yet never really get around to doing often enough (similar to down time for some, exercise for others…), so there is no better time than now. Thanks for the...

Thankful for Good Nutrition!
Listen to many health reports about Thanksgiving and you’ll be pushing away from the table feeling like a certain farm animal, whether it’s a stuffed turkey, a slothful pig or a chewing cow. Well, I think it’s time that Thanksgiving, and everyone partaking in it, got a little break! While tables packed full of bountiful, gorgeous goodies can help you rack up calorie and fat...

You're Getting Warmer!
Chili makes me a bit nostalgic; it was one of my Mom’s go-to dishes for dinner. Strangely, we’d always have chili with carrot sticks and cinnamon rolls because that’s what my Mom’s elementary school offered with chili at lunch!
Despite usually being packed full of nutritious goodies (fiber, protein, iron), chili can easily be a sneaky calorie concealer. Nonetheless, there...

Slow Down, Slim Down?
Dilly-Dally at Dinner
Countless studies have reported the effects of eating slower. Taking your time at the table increases satisfaction, allows your brain and stomach to register the food consumed and can help you to avoid eating out of necessity when in a group (hey, if everyone else is still eating, I better go for seconds)!
Slowing down while eating is also important because it gives time...

One Sweet Side
Vitamin A-packed sweet potatoes make an appearance on many Thanksgiving tables, most likely in a sugary, marshmallowy dish or a pie that doesn’t much resemble a sweet potato anymore. But these orange root vegetables make for tasty eats all year long. Personally, I enjoy sweet potatoes baked whole or sliced into oven fries. What a delicious and nutritious substitute to the fast food staple!
