Scratch the Resolutions
I’m what you could call somewhat anti-resolution…

Something about the diet-centric, quick solution-search rubs me the wrong way, but I do like the idea of trying to make your life more like your personal ideal! I try to live life aiming for my goals throughout the year. Now that I’m a part of this lovely blog community, I figure I can use this platform to make some plans/goals I have public, and the beginning of a new year seems like the perfect time to share!
One thing I do love: to-do lists. They keep me organized and centered while helping clear out my brain for more important things. So here’s my so-called 2010 to-do list (or will-try-really-hard-to-do list) :)
I aim to return to these ideas, checking in periodically and hopefully crossing them off of my list! (Edited to say: this list keeps growing and growing! I’m adding as I think of more ;) )
- Move to Chicago, complete and contribute meaningfully at my internship
- Build more friendships, strengthen current relationships and start dating more (more time for relationships now that homework loads will be much lighter!)
- Line up a job for after graduation in May
- Keep blogging and growing the Healthful Bites community
- Be a more patient person. It’s not beneficial to get frustrated at drivers who stay stopped after the light has turned green, or to worry about the results of something I can no longer control.
- Read more books. Seek knowledge even though I’m outside of the classroom.
- Continue working with and appearing on the Dr. Fitness and the Fat Guy podcast. My next show interview date? January 14! What great guys and a wonderful experience!
- Expand my love and respect for myself, inside and out
- Become CHES (health education specialist) certified so that I can be Karla Walsh, CHES…always wanted letters after my name!
- Maintain or improve on my current strength levels—I’m really digging how powerful I feel with my recent weight training regimen
- Try at least a few new workout programs/concepts. I can get sucked into my favorite exercise methods, but shaking it up will be good for my body, mind and blog!
What are your goals for the upcoming year? I’d love to hear what you have planned and will achieve in 2010!
Stay tuned for the regularly scheduled “good for you news” post later today!!
