    Blogroll (Recommended Reading Part 2)

Ready for a sampling of my favorite blogs—round two? (In case you missed the first, check it out here!) Since I can’t list all of my picks here in these two blogs, I’ll try to continue highlighting my current reads more in the future. Be sure to list your suggestions in the comments!

    Eating Bird Food

    • Synopsis: Brittany altered her lifestyle in high school to live more healthfully, and has been sharing what she learned along the way on EBF. She often writes about and photographs delicious (and nutritious) recipes that don’t taste like “bird food.”
    • Why I love it: EBF is packed with recipe and running inspiration, as well as food reviews so you know what to buy and what to skip at the grocery store. I met Brittany at Fitbloggin’ last year, and she is as sweet in person as she seems on her site!

    A Healthy, Happier Bear

    • Synopsis: Ashley, a busy working girl, types away about nights on the town with her husband, fun new fitness classes with pals and yummy meals and snacks that fuel her adventures.
    • Why I love it: As a fellow New Yorker, I appreciate Ashley’s gym and restaurant reviews. She’s a racing machine and it’s so fun to follow along as she hits the streets too!
    • Sample post: Balancing the Stress

    FitSugar

    • Synopsis: This is the wellness branch of the PopSugar Network of sites.
    • Why I love it: So many health-minded posts in so little time! For example, FitSugar had 11 new posts on Friday alone. Expect celebrity workout routines, gear round-ups, gym advice and healthful recipes.
    • Sample post: FitSugar Roundup (Links to several FitSugar posts that may suit your fancy)

    MizFit Online

    • Synopsis: MizFit says that “fitness isn’t about fitting in.” Her quirky attitude and writing style—not to mention the awesome advice that she shares as a personal trainer, mom and podcast host—make Carla’s site one of a kind.
    • Why I love it: Clearly, MizFit has an awesome name (even though we spell it differently). And sprinkled in with the wonderful tips, she also posts countless adorable mom and daughter photos. The pair seems to always be out having fun, active adventures!
    • Sample post: Planning Our Year: The Specifics Post

    Damn You Auto Correct

    • Synopsis: First, let me mention that this one is not for the kiddies or those who are sensitive to foul language. Cell phones apparently have very dirty minds! DYAC’s premise is simple: Publish screen shots of the wackiest changes the auto correct function on cell phones have made…and the hilarious reactions by the texters involved.
    • Why I love it: Guaranteed laughs, and you can commiserate with the posters, as this has likely happen to anyone who has sent a text!
    • Sample post: Take Out Dinner

Zach Johnson Has a Pretty Sweet Life

    • Synopsis: The title is pretty self explanatory! My awesome pal from Iowa State is also living his dream in the big city, as an assistant editor at US Weekly. His blog chronicles his amazing celebrity meetings (Bruno Mars, Iman, Jackie Warner…), spotlights fun new music and shares only-in-NYC stories.
    • Why I love it: Since Zach and I can’t meet up in person as much as I’d like, I can keep up with his fabulous life on his blog! Plus, how many people have scores of neat anecdotes/behind-the-scenes info to share?
    • Sample post(s): Zach met Julianne Hough, a Real Housewife and Guiliana Rancic just this week—in person! No big deal…
