Sunday Morning Special: What’s YOUR Healthy?

Is anyone else finding it hard to believe that this is our last Sunday of summer? It might have something to do with the fact that it's just now feeling slightly fall-ish outside here, but it's still a hard fact to wrap my mind around! Summer is ending with some good news and some bad news for me. The good: I've had several wonderful weekends in a row, including a hometown visit over Labor Day with a local 5K charity walk. Rock ‘N’ Roll St. Louis Half-Marathon Race Recap

Woohoo—I survived! But let’s rewind a bit… I arrived in St. Louis on Friday evening and enjoyed a tasty dinner with my family at a new restaurant, Sauce on the Side. (If you’re in the area or visiting, check it out! The service was super-friendly, they were very accommodating to special order requests and the Italian food was delicious.) Half-Marathon #2: A Family Affair—and My Training Plan!

Come October 21, Amy, Sarah and I will be taking on 13.1 miles at the Rock ‘n’ Roll Half-Marathon in St. Louis. Besides being a fun family event, it will be a memorable day because after crossing the finish line, we are planning to ...continue reading

I’ll let the pictures do most of the talking about the sights, tastes and memories from the trip, but first, here are a few tips about fun places to go/see while in town: To eat/drink… Green Bean:  Order off the menu or create your own salad filled with local ingredients. Royale: Sit inside or outside and enjoy seasonal food and a wide ...continue reading

STL Eats

In the town that invented toasted ravioli, churns out gallon after gallon of Ted Drewes rich frozen custard and racks up countless bottles of Anheuser-Busch beers, is it possible to grab a “healthful bite?” Well if the options are available, you know I would find them! While visiting my sister right before school started back up, we saw the Mary Poppins musical at Fox Theatre, walked around Forest Park (see picture below) and ...continue reading
